Shrimp garlic pasta is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that combines succulent shrimp with garlic-infused pasta. Here’s a simple recipe:
Ingredients:
- 8 oz (225g) spaghetti or your preferred pasta
- 1 lb (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- Juice of 1 lemon
- Grated Parmesan cheese for serving (optional)
Instructions:
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving about 1/2 cup of pasta water.
- While the pasta is cooking, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet and season with salt and black pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until they turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add butter and let it melt. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet along with the chopped parsley. Toss to coat the pasta with the garlic butter sauce. If the pasta seems dry, add some of the reserved pasta water to loosen it up.
- Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and toss everything together. Squeeze the lemon juice over the pasta and shrimp, then toss once more to combine.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. Serve hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
Enjoy your flavorful shrimp garlic pasta!
