Recipe for making a Peppermint Mocha:
Ingredients:
- 1 shot of espresso or 1/2 cup of strong brewed coffee
- 1 cup of milk (you can use any type of milk, such as whole milk, almond milk, or soy milk)
- 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons of sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon of peppermint extract or peppermint syrup
- Whipped cream (optional)
- Crushed candy canes or peppermint candies for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Brew a shot of espresso or make a strong cup of coffee.
- In a saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat. Be careful not to let it boil.
- In a separate bowl, mix the cocoa powder and sugar. Add a small amount of the heated milk to the cocoa mixture and whisk until smooth, creating a chocolate syrup.
- Pour the chocolate syrup into the saucepan with the rest of the heated milk. Whisk until well combined.
- Add the brewed espresso or coffee to the milk mixture and stir.
- Add the peppermint extract or peppermint syrup to the mixture. Adjust the amount to your liking, as peppermint strength can vary.
- Continue to heat the mixture until it’s hot but not boiling.
- Pour the Peppermint Mocha into your favorite mug.
- Optional: Top with whipped cream and sprinkle crushed candy canes or peppermint candies on top for extra flavor and decoration.
- Enjoy your homemade Peppermint Mocha!
