Ingredients:
- 1 sleeve of Saltine crackers (about 35-40 crackers)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder (optional)
- 1/4 tsp onion powder (optional)
- 1/4 tsp paprika (optional)
- Sea salt or kosher salt, to taste (if desired)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup. - Melt the Butter:
In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, you can add any optional seasonings like garlic powder, onion powder, or paprika to add more flavor. Stir the butter mixture well to incorporate the seasonings. - Arrange the Crackers:
Lay the Saltine crackers in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Make sure they’re not overlapping so that each cracker can get fully coated with the butter. - Brush or Drizzle the Butter:
Using a pastry brush, brush the melted butter mixture generously over each cracker. If you don’t have a brush, you can also drizzle the butter evenly over the crackers. Be sure to coat all the crackers thoroughly. For extra richness, you can flip the crackers and butter the other side as well. - Bake the Crackers:
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes or until the crackers are golden brown and crispy. Keep an eye on them to prevent over-browning. The butter will soak into the crackers, giving them a rich flavor while they bake. - Add Salt (Optional):
If you prefer, you can sprinkle a bit of sea salt or kosher salt over the crackers right after they come out of the oven for an extra salty touch. - Cool and Serve:
Remove the crackers from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes. Once they’ve cooled slightly, transfer them to a serving plate or bowl. Serve the buttered Saltines warm or at room temperature.
