### Chinese Pepper Steak Recipe
#### Ingredients:
– **1 lb (450g) flank steak** or sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain
– **2 tbsp soy sauce**
– **2 tbsp oyster sauce**
– **1 tbsp hoisin sauce**
– **1 tbsp cornstarch**
– **2 tbsp vegetable oil**
– **1 large onion**, sliced
– **2 bell peppers** (one green, one red for color), sliced
– **3 cloves garlic**, minced
– **1 tsp fresh ginger**, grated
– **1/4 cup beef broth**
– **1 tbsp sugar**
– **1 tbsp rice wine vinegar**
– **Salt and pepper** to taste
– **1 tsp sesame oil** (optional)
– **Sesame seeds** and **sliced green onions** for garnish
#### Instructions:
1. **Marinate the Steak:**
– In a bowl, combine the sliced steak with 1 tablespoon soy sauce, 1 tablespoon oyster sauce, and 1 tablespoon cornstarch. Mix well to coat the meat evenly. Let it marinate for at least 20 minutes.
2. **Prepare the Sauce:**
– In a small bowl, mix together the remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, beef broth, sugar, and rice wine vinegar. Set aside.
3. **Cook the Vegetables:**
– Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
– Add the sliced onion and bell peppers. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until they start to soften but are still slightly crisp. Remove the vegetables from the pan and set aside.
4. **Cook the Steak:**
– In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the marinated steak slices in a single layer. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until the steak is browned and cooked through. Remove the steak from the pan and set aside.
5. **Combine and Finish:**
– In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and grated ginger. Stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
– Return the cooked vegetables and steak to the pan. Pour in the prepared sauce and stir everything together.
– Cook for another 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently, until the sauce thickens and coats the meat and vegetables.
– Add the sesame oil (if using) and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
6. **Serve:**
– Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
– Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles.
