### Butterflake Rolls Recipe
#### Ingredients:
– 4 cups all-purpose flour
– 1/4 cup granulated sugar
– 1 package (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
– 1 1/2 tsp salt
– 3/4 cup warm milk (about 110°F)
– 1/2 cup warm water (about 110°F)
– 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
– 1 large egg
– 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened (for layering)
#### Instructions:
1. **Prepare the Dough:**
– In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
– Add warm milk, warm water, melted butter, and the egg. Beat on medium speed until smooth.
– Gradually stir in the remaining flour to form a soft dough.
2. **Knead the Dough:**
– Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic, about 6-8 minutes.
– Place the dough in a greased bowl, turning once to grease the top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.
3. **Shape the Rolls:**
– Punch down the dough. Turn onto a lightly floured surface; divide into 4 portions.
– Roll each portion into a 12×8-inch rectangle.
– Spread softened butter over each rectangle.
– Cut each rectangle lengthwise into six 2-inch strips. Stack three strips at a time, buttered side up.
– Cut each stack into three pieces.
– Place each stack cut side up in greased muffin cups.
4. **Second Rise:**
– Cover and let rise until doubled, about 30 minutes.
– Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
5. **Bake:**
– Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
– Remove from pans to wire racks. Serve warm.
